What it will not do.
- Sign up or pay
- It never creates an account, or enters personal or payment details
- Go past a paywall
- It skips it and says so
- See your passwords
- On a research portal where your firm has an account, the password is typed in for it. It never reaches the model, the logs or the replay
- Keep personal numbers
- Korean resident registration numbers are removed when a document is read
What it sends, and to whom.
- The model
- Claude drives the browser. The task and the browser’s screenshots go to Anthropic’s API
- The web
- The browser reaches the public internet, as any analyst’s does
- The record
- Every step saved with a screenshot and a note. Replay the whole task
Limits: 25 minutes or 50 steps a task, about six files, up to three tasks at once.
Questions.
Which files can it read?
PDF, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, HWP and HWPX, HTML and text. Scanned PDF pages are read by a vision model. Images on their own are not supported yet.
How soon can Ask use a file?
As soon as its passages are indexed, usually minutes after you add it. The Library shows each document’s progress.
Can it read paid research?
Only on portals where your firm has an account, with the sign-in you give it. It never buys anything or signs up.
Where does it run?
The browser runs in a disposable container beside your Core, on a machine with room for it; we set it up with you. The model that drives it is Claude, in Anthropic’s cloud.
